Magenta Ink! is a growing online stationery business owned and run by established graphic designer Adrienne Kerr. Alongside her keen eye for style, Adrienne has many invaluable years worth of experience in the social stationery and wedding industry.

Creative State first worked with Adrienne in 2007 and has since collaborated with Magenta Ink! on a number of projects including ongoing website developments, email marketing campaigns, and more recently the revamp of their new online shop which launched in March 2010.

The new e-commerce website benefits from an editorial feel, which was crucial to the development of a simple yet effective online ordering system for stationery. We found that whilst a number of online shops cater for the ordering of wedding stationery online,  it can be a complex process due to the various printing techniques, typestyle and ink choices on offer. Our challenge was to make this an enjoyable experience for the customer, particularly as users have the ability to add motifs to their designs and even have their very own personalised or wedding monograms created.

We’ve launched the first in a series of online videos that are being created for Fountain Court Apartments, a company offering serviced apartments in Edinburgh’s city centre.

The launch video features their four city centre locations; EQ2, Harris, Grove and Grove Executive, as well as the new Fountain Court Cafe. It also highlights the shopping and entertainment opportunities available to those visiting the city of Edinburgh and introduces the various transport links.

Fountain Court Apartments has appointed Creative State to deliver a range of online videos promoting their serviced apartments in Edinburgh’s city centre.

The first of the online videos will feature their EQ2, Harris, Grove and newly designed Grove Executive apartments, as well as some spectacular views of the city of Edinburgh. It will also capture the diversity of Fountain Court Apartments and their success in both the city break and corporate markets.

This follows from our successful bid to design their new website which launched in 2008.

WhichWebDesignCompany was setup by two enthusiastic online entrepreneurs. The idea came about because they thought the web design industry was under fire and receiving bad press. A bit like the rogue traders that you get who rip you off when they come in to do your building work, they were getting a number of clients coming to them after paying money to another company who were unable to deliver.

Businesses with little knowledge of the Internet and websites were losing faith in the industry. So it was time to create a central resource and database of web design companies with a main focus of allowing their current clients to independently review their services. At the same time, to create a website which can be easily used to help users search for the best web design company for them depending on their criteria – whether that’s location, budget or services required.

WWDC’s main aim is to provide the people interested in web design companies with best possible search results to find the company that best fits their needs.

To ensure the best possible ranking, they have introduced the WWDC Rank. WWDC Rank is calculated using a complicated algorithm considering all possible input available at WWDC and is constantly being improved.

In the past I’ve occasionally wanted to write a short blog, or share a brief piece of news, rather than write a full account of my findings covering the what, why and where. Twitter fills this gap and I’m looking forward to using it to update my Facebook status and Twitter feed on our newly launched website. It’s exciting to know that with just one post or text I can update people on recent graphic and website design findings, or simply recommend tools that can help them in the business.

What’s interesting about this utility is that I had originally steered clear of it for fear of being interrupted by mundane messages. The great thing is you can stop following at any time, and you can even set quiet times on Twitter so you’re not interrupted.

Having only used the tool for business purposes for just a matter of days I’m yet to discover the true benefits to Creative State, however others have explained the benefits of posting questions and getting the answers you want right away and I hope I can make good use of Twitter to help others too.
