Creative State was approached to design and develop a new brand identity and website for Edinburgh Holiday Lets, a provider of city centre self-catering apartments. The apartments are available to tourists and visitors as well as business people looking for corporate lets.

We have also been commissioned to produce a mobile website and online video. These are designed to enhance the overall user experience and give those using a mobile device, or without much time, the chance to get to where they need to be quickly and effectively.

Our brief was to design a strong, simple company image that would bring the brand in line with hotels and serviced apartments. The website was to feature a range of apartments, as well as Edinburgh attractions and events, thus attracting tourists and corporate customers.

The mobile website and online video, which are currently in development, have been created to enhance the overall user experience and assist with wider promotion of the apartments, in particular the proximity to city centre venues, especially those frequented by festival goers.

We delivered a brand identity that was bright, fresh and professional. Designed to sit alongside bold images of Edinburgh’s cityscape, the company image appeals to a wide range of customer types.

The website incorporates a custom-built booking engine and an e-commerce facility to take bookings directly on the website. The content management system would also provide a central point for managing apartments and bookings.

Since its launch in January 2010 online bookings have increased significantly and customers are proving to be loyal to the brand in terms of repeat business. The company has also seen a rise in its longer term lets, resulting in a high occupancy rate all year round, not just seasonally.

Most recently we embarked on the design of a dedicated mobile website and are now putting the finishing touches to an online video, which promotes the apartments and their proximity to nearby attractions and festival venues.
